Two filmmakers were in Sydney for the Focus on India: writer/director Musa Syeed who set Sundance winner Valley of Saints in Kashmir, the homeland of his parents; and documentary maker Anand Patwardhan, who took 14 years to complete Jai Bhim Comrade, which both explores the music of an oppressed community in Mumbai and tells of a terrible injustice.
We acknowledge Australia’s First Nations People as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land, and pay respect to the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, upon whose Country SFF are based.
